Dr. Michelle Haghpanah wants to challenge you and your kids to take your green to the next level this St. Patrick’s Day! Get into the holiday spirit with these fun ideas for the whole family!
Green Your Mealtime
Broccoli, avocado, spinach, apples, kiwi, edamame, green tea, grapes, and not to mention celery, green beans, peas, or cucumber! There are so many foods to help you literally GO GREEN with your kids’ breakfast, lunch, snack, and dinner this St. Patrick’s Day, and your kids will appreciate their mealtime with a St. Patrick’s Day flare. Try a spinach quiche for breakfast, pack a green smoothie to send your kids off to school, or maybe craft some pesto- broccoli pizza for dinner, but don’t be surprised if a leprechaun decides to join you at the table for some of your yummy, green- infused treats!
Green Your Hobbies
What better way to GO GREEN this St. Patrick’s Day than to get outside with your family to enjoy all the greenery that nature has to offer!? Wake up early with your little ones to go leprechaun hunting in the local park before school, or just run around the block once or twice before the sun sets and enjoy the green your kids can get right in their own backyard!
Green Your Dental Care
Dr. Michelle Haghpanah’s favorite way to GO GREEN starts with your teeth! Consider using a St. Patrick’s Day as a way to jump start going green with your family by gifting your child a “green” gift bag of biodegradable dental floss, a new green toothbrush made from a wooden handle and all- natural bristles, and a natural brand of pediatric, toothpaste from your local store. You can also use this opportunity to teach your kids about “going green” with their lifestyle, and how the products they consume can make an impact on the world around them.
